No Gi Jiujitsu Techniques
Stand-up entry to the back, reverse drop tai otoshi take down, and single-leg X sweep position techniques from NorthBay Jiujitsu No Gi class (9 a.m.) by Paulo Silva. Thanks to my training partner, Adolfo!
Class: No Gi at 9 a.m.
Instructor: Paulo Silva
Duck under entry to take down with a clamp to the hip/leg
Going in the direction of the clamp leg and driving forward
Inside C-grip to the rear body lock
***WARNING*** I didn’t do this right! Somehow the arm needs to shoot across my head, and I would make an entry under the armpit. Please ask Paulo Silva!
Escaping rear body lock
If the grip is too tight, wedge the elbow and turn around.
Reverse drop tai otoshi take down
My favorite takedown but during live grappling, it’s a little bit harder to do.
Single-leg X to regular X sweep to side mount
Using double-leg entry or “fancy” entry
I can’t do it “fancy”, it involved graceful hip/leg movements in the sliding effect!
